Aerotrain KLIA kemas kini perisian selepas 20,000 jam operasi

Perkhidmatan bas akan beroperasi sepanjang tempoh kemas kini serta ujian bagi memastikan kelancaran pemindahan penumpang antara terminal utama dan bangunan satelit.

Aerotrain KLIA kemas kini perisian selepas 20,000 jam operasi

Starting late tonight and ending early tomorrow morning, the aerotrain service at KLIA will undergo maintenance upgrades for 20,000 hours of continuous operation. This routine maintenance is part of efforts to enhance operational reliability and support long-term performance. Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) announced that the work will be carried out in two phases, with the aerotrain service suspended from midnight tonight until 5 a.m. the following day.

The first phase involves field testing from October 8 to 17, during which the upgraded parts will be installed and tested in real-world operational conditions to ensure performance and functionality. After the field tests, a comprehensive safety assessment will be conducted before the second phase begins on November 28 to December 1, which will be the new standard for the aerotrain system.

Shuttle buses will operate throughout the maintenance period and safety tests to ensure passenger transfers between the main terminal and satellite buildings are not disrupted. MAHB stated that the KLIA aerotrain has maintained a 99.9% availability since June last year, handling 167,481 passenger round trips and carrying approximately 23.55 million passengers in the past 18 months.

The priority to ensure the aerotrain continues to provide reliable and smooth service for KLIA passengers, said KLIA Operations Manager Adam Nicholas Wilson in a statement. The planned activities, including this maintenance, are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain this high performance standard and support the system's reliability in the long term.
