Abu Dhabi inmates to learn farming skills in new 12-month programme

Abu Dhabi has introduced a new initiative called My Family Innovates to help families operating home-based businesses move towards professionalism and sustainability. The Authority of Social Contribution, Ma an, in collaboration with the Department of Community Development, launched the programme to equip "productive families" with the necessary tools for growth and market readiness.

Abdullah Al Ameri, Director General of the Authority of Social Contribution, Ma an, explained that the programme aims to create an environment where families can learn from one another, develop practical capabilities, and transform their potential into tangible actions. The launch of My Family Innovates aligns with the UAE's Year of Family, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and shared opportunities for growth.

Participants will be educated on various aspects of entrepreneurship, including business management, branding, digital marketing, and the use of artificial intelligence tools. The programme is designed to accommodate families at different stages, including low-income families and People of Determination. Volunteers and partners play a significant role, providing hands-on experiences to foster creativity, innovation, and community involvement.

By combining learning, mentorship, and community engagement, My Family Innovates seeks to empower families to be more independent and better equipped to seize new opportunities. The positive impact is expected to extend to the families themselves. Al Ameri highlighted that the programme embodies the Year of Family's spirit by fostering community unity around growth, learning, and contribution.

As part of the authority's broader portfolio of family-focused initiatives, My Family Innovates aims to enhance the quality of life and self-reliance of families across the UAE.
