Zelenskyy: High Command sets tasks on electronic warfare, sanctions, supply of long-range drones to AFU

During a recent meeting of the High Command, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined several key objectives for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and manufacturers. These tasks include expanding efforts in the field of electronic warfare, preparing new sanctions packages against Russia, and supplying Ukrainian forces with long-range drones for the upcoming year.

Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of detailed reports on the capabilities of electronic warfare systems and their role in safeguarding critical infrastructure, noting that this aspect of defense plays a crucial role in neutralizing Russian suicide drones.

Furthermore, Defense Intelligence of Ukraine provided insights into Russia's technological priorities for the current and following year, along with the supplies of vital components and equipment for weapons production. President Zelenskyy stated that these findings will serve as the basis for new sanctions packages, which the intelligence agency will submit to the relevant authorities. The president also emphasized the collaborative approach with international partners in synchronizing sanctions efforts.

A significant focus of the meeting was on the procurement of long-range drones for Ukrainian forces. Zelenskyy stressed that the primary criterion for this procurement should be Ukraine's capacity to mount an effective response to Russian strikes. He reiterated that the key criterion is the ability to respond to Russian strikes in kind, underscoring the importance of strategic defense capabilities.
