Memphis Grizzlies rookie forward Cameron Boozer made an instant impact in the NBA preseason during Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The Duke Blue Devils graduate, selected third overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, showcased his talent with a stunning fadeaway jumper from the left side, marking his first career bucket in the preseason.
The shot not only swished but also secured a four-point lead for the Grizzlies, who had been trailing by six points earlier in the contest. The video of Boozer's impressive shot can be viewed here. With the Grizzlies aiming to turn their fortunes around after missing the playoffs in 2025-26, Boozer is expected to eventually become a key player for the franchise.
The young forward, who averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals in 38 games for Duke last season, will face some growing pains as he adapts to the NBA. The Grizzlies have three more preseason games remaining, including matchups against the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, and Charlotte Hornets. The season kicks off for the Grizzlies on October 21 against the Utah Jazz at FedExForum in Memphis.
