Those claiming I’m from Ekiti are jesters – Yayi

All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, has dismissed claims that he is from Ekiti State, calling those behind the assertions jesters. In an interview with newsmen in Lagos, Adeola confirmed his roots in Ogun State, emphasizing that both his parents were from the region. He also debunked the claim that his father was buried in Ekiti, stating that his father's burial place was the house he had built in Alaguntan, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.

Adeola dismissed the political maneuvers behind the false claims, asserting that they would not succeed. He further explained that his ambition for the governorship position stems from a genuine desire to serve and develop Ogun State and not personal enrichment. Despite the challenges he has encountered in his campaign, including his first attempt to contest as a senator, Adeola remains focused on his goal, highlighting his extensive experience in the legislature as an asset.

He noted that Ogun State has made significant progress under Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration, citing economic developments such as the deep seaport project and Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport. Adeola also addressed concerns about road infrastructure, promising to prioritize strategic roads that would improve connectivity and economic corridors.

He emphasized that his ambition is grounded in serving the people of Ogun and achieving a transfer of power from a friendly outgoing governor to a friendly incoming governor.
