The wireless headphones that roll up into a Bluetooth speaker are now available

Following their debut at CES 2026 and a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign last February, Tomorrow Doesn't Matter's (TDM) Neo headphones are now available in the US. While Sony recently opted to reintroduce a headphone design from six years ago, TDM's Neo delivers some genuinely unique headphone functionality through a flexible headband and extra drivers, allowing […]

The wireless headphones that roll up into a Bluetooth speaker are now available

After using the JBL Go 5 as a shower speaker for three months, it has become my favorite compact Bluetooth speaker and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Despite being the weakest speaker that isn't built into another device, the Go 5 is a small, durable, and waterproof Bluetooth speaker. In our full JBL Go 5 review, it received five stars for being as good as Bluetooth speakers get in its size. I have even found discounts on it during the early Amazon Prime Day deals, along with other JBL speakers.

Upon reviewing it, I brought one home and primarily use it as a shower speaker because of its small size, which allows it to blend in with other bathroom items. When turned on, it connects instantly to my phone, a feature that cheap Bluetooth speakers often struggle with. JBL has optimized this aspect, making it easy to turn on and off as needed, which extends its battery life beyond the advertised eight hours. In reality, it lasts for weeks.

The Go 5 is tough enough to withstand drops and dunkings in the bathroom, even having survived being thrown out of a window following a poor placement. Despite the audio fidelity being low when the shower or electric razor are on, it delivers a strong bass, allowing you to hear the beat even at lower volumes. It also performs well when cranked up.

Apart from being a great bathroom speaker, the Go 5 also serves as the soundtrack for my morning routine. I take it from the bathroom to my room while getting ready, and it accompanies me downstairs to make breakfast without disrupting my flow. It is pocketable and can be attached to my finger to take with me even when carrying other items. I already have speakers in my bedroom and kitchen, but they require more effort to move around. The tiny JBL, on the other hand, goes wherever I want it to.

While the Go 5 may not have the same sound quality as larger speakers, it makes up for it with convenience. It requires minimal effort to use, which is why it has become an integral part of my routine and has had a more significant positive impact than other speakers. Given its current price of under $40, it is an excellent gift option, especially considering the current economic situation.
