Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid Kapoor’s driver opened a momo shop, Tukaram Mundhe shut it down

Tukaram Mundhe, head of Maharashtra Food & Drug Administration, suspended licenses of eight more eateries on Monday, targeting establishments that encroached during the festival season. Among the outlets targeted was the original Andheri West branch of Suraj Lama Momos, a popular Mumbai-based momo shop. Suraj Lama, a Bollywood driver once employed by actors Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor, quit his job in 2017 to sell momos after receiving positive feedback from Sinha's family.

He started a pop-up shop with his wife, who also left her job, and the venture proved successful despite initial challenges. The FDA took action against Suraj Lama Momos due to lapses in food handling, storage, sanitation, and cleanliness, which they deemed serious enough to warrant immediate action.
