Softwarehersteller: SAP will KI-Spezialisten Techwolf übernehmen

SAP announced its intention to acquire Techwolf, a KI-specialist software company, in order to enhance its offerings in AI-driven workforce planning. The German tech giant expects the transaction to be finalized before the end of the year, according to a statement released on Tuesday. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Manoj Swaminathan, a member of the expanded SAP board, highlighted that Techwolf's "Context Graph for Work" provides a robust data and knowledge foundation for tasks related to workforce and talent management, with many of these processes potentially being automated through the use of AI. The Context Graph for Work collects information on employees' roles and skills, correlating them with the company's strategy.

This enables personnel departments to make decisions regarding hiring, reskilling, or reassignment. SAP customers can currently utilize the Techwolf offering as part of a collaboration between the two companies. Techwolf was founded in Gent, Belgium, in 2018, and reportedly raised $43 million in funding in the spring of the same year, with SAP being one of the investors in that round.

According to SAP, after the acquisition, Techwolf will continue as an independent company under the current CEO, Andreas De Neve.
