Sahibzada Farhan is set to captain Pakistan in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, replacing Salman Ali Agha. The 24-year-old opener is expected to lead a youthful Pakistan team, which may include seasoned players like Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Fakhar Zaman. However, players such as Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr are expected to be dropped from the squad.
Sahibzada Farhan previously captained Pakistan's young team at the Asian Games 2026, where they reached the final and won silver. Pakistan will face Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 9 to 13. The series marks Sri Lanka's first visit to Pakistan for a bilateral T20I series since 2019, when Pakistan won 3-0.
Following the T20I series, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England will participate in an ODI tri-series from October 18 to 29. The series will conclude with a final match to determine the top two teams for the final, which will be held on October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium.
