Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Kingsley Chinda, the Rivers State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, along with their supporters, convened with Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to foster political reconciliation in the state, according to reports.
The closed-door discussion, which lasted approximately four hours, involved key figures from both sides. This marked the first instance Governor Fubara personally participated in a reconciliation meeting with his supporters, following years of political disputes that divided political actors and supporters. Wike and Chinda, along with their supporters, arrived at the Governor's residence around 4 pm, joining Fubara and his supporters for the deliberations.
However, as of the report's filing, neither side had provided details about the meeting, as they continued to maintain silence.
