Punjab Installs Panic Buttons and Cameras on Major Overhead Bridges

The Safe City Authority has begun installing emergency panic buttons and surveillance cameras on significant overhead bridges. A spokesperson for the Safe City revealed that panic buttons have already been installed on the College for Women University and Kinnaird College overhead bridges. Subsequently, the initiative will extend to other crucial overhead bridges.

The spokesperson emphasized that students and women will have the ability to press the panic button in instances of harassment or emergencies. Upon pressing the panic button, the woman will be able to establish a direct connection with the Safe City control room. The control room will promptly assess the situation and dispatch necessary police assistance.

The installation of panic buttons and cameras will facilitate real-time monitoring and enhance surveillance in overhead bridges. The spokesperson also stated that additional overhead bridges will be integrated into the Safe City system in phases.
