PTI announces boycott of PP-203 by-election

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced a boycott of the upcoming by-election in PP-203, set to take place on November 8. This decision was communicated by Shaikh Waqas Akram, the Information Secretary of PTI, via a video message shared on social media. The announcement adheres to the directives issued by PTI's founding chairman, Imran Khan.

According to the Information Secretary, PTI workers, supporters, office-bearers, and activists from Sahiwal will not be involved in any form of campaigning or election-related activities. PTI has pledged to boycott the by-election wholeheartedly, following its official policy. Any candidate utilizing PTI's name, flag, or election symbol would not receive the party’s official support.

Former MNA and president of PTI West Punjab, Rai Hasan Nawaz, speaking anonymously, stated that PTI voters and supporters will also refrain from participating in the by-election. He emphasized that elections held under the "Form-47 government" are unacceptable to PTI. Nawaz further affirmed that the Rai family will neither contest nor endorse any candidate or political party in the forthcoming election.

As of now, 10 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for PP-203 to Returning Officer Khudadad Tarar, with the last day for submission having passed.
