Obuasi East Assembly orders removal of containers from road reservation

The Obuasi East Municipal Assembly has instructed owners of temporary structures and containers at Kwabrafoso-Padmore School to dismantle them, stating that the encroachments have encroached upon a designated road reservation. A notice, dated September 3, 2026, and signed by Richard Blevi, the Municipal Coordinating Director, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, granted affected developers until September 30, 2026, to remove the containers.

The assembly has threatened additional enforcement measures if the directive is not followed without further notice. This latest order follows a previous notice issued on July 15, 2026, where the assembly invited owners of containers in the Brahabebome-Rab Junction area to a meeting at the Municipal Chief Executive's office on July 16 to discuss the placement of their structures.

Following the July notice, the September directive was released as part of the assembly's efforts to address structures deemed to be located within a road reservation. The assembly has invited those who require further clarification to reach out to the Physical Planning Department of the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly.
