Nuri rocket moved to launchpad on eve of fifth launch

Korea's homegrown Nuri rocket commenced its journey to the launchpad on Tuesday, a day before its scheduled fifth launch, according to the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) reported that the launch team initiated the transportation of the rocket at 6 a.m. from the assembly complex to the launchpad at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, roughly 330 kilometers south of Seoul. The transportation process is projected to take approximately 90 minutes.

Upon arrival, the rocket will be positioned vertically on the launch platform. The launch team will subsequently connect the rocket to the umbilical systems, which are responsible for supplying power and other essential links. A series of checks will then be conducted to prepare the rocket for the injection of fuel and oxidizer. According to the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, these preparations at the launchpad are anticipated to be finalized by the end of the day.

Before the launch, KASA will convene a launch management committee on Wednesday. The committee's task will be to ascertain the final launch time, taking into account the rocket's technical readiness, weather conditions, and the potential risk of collisions with existing space objects.
