Man found dead with mutilated body near Plateau market

Residents of Pankshin community in Plateau State were left in shock following the gruesome discovery of a man's mutilated body near Monday Market on Tuesday morning. The victim's body, which was found in the early hours of the day, had suffered severe mutilation, with parts of his body, including his penis, reportedly cut off. The community was thrown into confusion as the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown.

A resident, Johnson Dawul, who witnessed the incident, described the scene as "shocking" and expressed concern over the disturbing mutilation of the victim's body. Another resident confirmed the incident and stated that security personnel were immediately alerted by locals, who then evacuated the body in a police vehicle. The Plateau State Police Command has launched an investigation to identify the victim and those responsible for his brutal murder.

As of the time of filing this report, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, had not responded to inquiries about the incident.
