Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye convened an emergency meeting in Riyadh on Monday to activate their Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, addressing the escalating security concerns stemming from Houthi attacks on the kingdom. The Strategic Political and Defence Committee (SPDC) of the Makkah Defence Alliance swiftly decided to implement the collective defence commitments, with Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif revealing that Pakistani and Turkish forces would be deployed in the region under the pact's arrangements.
The three nations strongly condemned the attempted targeting of Makkah and Madina, as well as ongoing assaults on Saudi cities and civilian infrastructure, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the kingdom's security and territorial integrity.
