The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has declared the presidential ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde as "dead on arrival." Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, made the statement in a signed declaration released to DAILY POST. The declaration came after recent comments by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's performance positively.
Alli believes this endorsement indicates Makinde's presidential campaign is "dead on arrival." He further argued that Makinde's candidacy is becoming a smokescreen for negotiation and that Mohammed's commendation of Tinubu exposes the emptiness of Makinde's presidential ambition. Alli emphasized the people of Oyo State's greater interest in Makinde's legacy and advised him to focus on his governance record in the state.
The APC candidate's presidential bid, according to Alli, is collapsing due to its contradictions before the election even begins.
