Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided an optimistic injury update on star safety Brian Branch following their recent 32-26 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Campbell indicated that Branch is hopeful to practice this week, pending approval from his doctor. This comes after the Lions suffered a 2-2 season start, with their porous defense ranking last in the NFL.
The team has faced significant injury issues with key defensive players, including quarterback Jared Goff's performance and safety Kerby Joseph's absence. Campbell also addressed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin's hamstring injury, stating that he does not appear to be in good shape for the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 11.
The Lions face a challenging matchup against a formidable opponent, and their defense's continued struggles could lead to growing fan discontent.
