Best Cordless Vacuums: Lab-Tested for Suction and Battery Life
Ditch the cord without sacrificing suction. We’ve tested dozens of models to find the top cordless vacuums for every home and budget.
Cordless vacuums provide an affordable cleaning solution for many homes, although they may not match the suction power of canister and upright models. CNET has been testing both cordless and corded vacuums for years, focusing on real-world performance rather than manufacturer claims. In 2025, they revised their testing methods to prioritize battery life and ease of use.
The Shark Stratos now holds the title of best overall cordless vacuum, following the removal of some previous top picks. Other notable models include the Levoit LVAC-200, Dyson V15 Detect, and LG CordZero A949. The Tineco GoStation Smart and Uninell UV5 were also added to the best list due to their premium features and large dustbins, respectively.
New additions to the top picks include the Eureka ReactiSense 440, Bissell PowerClean FurFinder, and Dreame Z30. The Shark Stratos was reinstated as a tied best overall pick, taking into account recent data on battery life.
