Follow along as we bring you the latest live news updates from Australia and around the world.
Most families of six US soldiers killed in the deadliest Iran war attack will not attend a White House event hosted by President Donald Trump for Gold Star families. Only one family member confirmed they would attend. Soldiers who survived the attack on Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, have questioned why they were stationed at a site with insufficient air protection.
The March 1 attack claimed 19 US lives and wounded over 800 others. The White House acknowledged the families' frustration over the lack of transparency from the Pentagon regarding the strike. The families have expressed disappointment over the lack of notice and invitations for the event. The White House has not contacted some families who requested not to receive communications.
