Anthony Gordon has praised Barcelona midfielder Pedri, stating that the Spanish international helps him recognize his runs before defenders do. Gordon recently joined Barcelona from Newcastle United and has settled quickly due to the similarity in playing styles, both demanding aggressive pressing and forward movement. Gordon attributes his ease of adaptation to the high-quality players surrounding him at Barcelona.
He particularly appreciates the support from teammates Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo, who have helped him navigate the Spanish language barrier. Although Gordon hasn't scored for Barcelona yet, he remains confident in his ability to contribute goals, drawing from his previous experiences of scoring regularly after adapting to new clubs.
When asked about Barcelona's greatest side, Gordon highlighted the 2011 Champions League-winning team featuring Xavi and Iniesta, expressing his desire for this team to also be remembered forever.
