Yemen: Video shows armoured vehicle ramming unarmed and armed men as fighting rages

Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces were seen driving an armored vehicle over both armed and unarmed men on October 3, 2026, in the Jabal Han area west of Taiz, Yemen. The incident occurred during a fierce battle with the Houthis, who are supported by Iran. The footage captured on social media showed the driver of the armored vehicle moving into a crowd of men, some armed with rifles and others clearly surrendering by raising their hands.

The driver then ran over two men who had their arms raised, screaming "Allahu Akbar." The vehicle subsequently crashed into additional men lying on the ground, who appeared to be either dead or unconscious. After the initial collision, the driver proceeded into a group of men on the ground, prompting them to fire at the vehicle as it accelerated towards them.

The driver used an Arabic curse word to describe one armed man lying alone on the beach before running him over. The vehicle stopped, and at least one person inside the vehicle opened fire on unarmed men on the beach who did not appear to be firing back, resulting in several casualties. These videos highlight the chaotic and brutal nature of the conflict raging in Yemen's coastal Tihamah Plain.
