‘Very, very good’ – Jeremy Jacquet has several French football legends mesmerised

Jeremy Jacquet is already receiving stellar reviews from several French football legends after just two matches of his senior international career. The Liverpool defender made his debut for France in their UEFA Nations League win over Belgium and delivered another impressive performance in a 1-1 draw against Italy. French football legends, including head coach Zinedine Zidane and ex-Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti, have praised Jacquet's exceptional skills and clean defending.

Zidane called Jacquet's display against Italy "very good, very, very good," highlighting his bravery and fearlessness in one-on-one situations. Umtiti also raved about Jacquet's ability to win duels and break lines, stating that the 21-year-old is a rare find in modern-day defense. Zidane further noted that Jacquet brings out the best in Virgil Van Dijk, the Liverpool captain.

With Jacquet's impressive form and ability, his inclusion in the France squad is a clear testament to his talent, especially considering the nation's past success. As one of the youngest players in the squad, Jacquet's promising display against Italy hints that he could be the long-term successor to Van Dijk at Liverpool.
