US CEO, 61, & wife, 63, found dead at luxury home in alleged murder-suicide due to financial issues

According to prosecutors, 61-year-old Bryan Walker and his 63-year-old wife Michelle Min were found dead at their luxury home in Berkeley on October 2. Walker served as the CEO of a fashion company, as documented on his LinkedIn profile. Paul Min, Michelle's younger brother, told the New York Post that Walker had been given permission to manage a portion of their substantial wealth.

However, Paul alleged that Walker had secretly mortgaged multiple properties under their names and engaged in high-risk investments. By September, Paul believed Walker had lost "well over $100 million," reportedly triggering a severe emotional collapse for Walker.

Walker reportedly "curled up into a ball, cried like a baby for weeks, and was completely useless," according to Paul Min. Despite Walker's distress, Michelle continued to care for her husband, as reported by the LA Times. Paul stated that Michelle had expressed a desire to leave the area and lead a simpler life for years, which may have exacerbated Walker's deteriorating mental state.

The incident occurred on the day Walker was scheduled to be institutionalized. Berkeley police responded to a 10:50am call after shots were heard, finding both individuals and attempting life-saving procedures, but ultimately pronouncing them dead.

Surveillance footage reviewed by CBS News revealed the first gunshot around 10:43am, followed by a man's cries and screams. A second gunshot was heard later, with the sound eventually ceasing. A firearm was discovered at the scene. The Oakland Police Department is currently investigating the tragic incident.
