Two CHPS compounds, educational facilities under construction in Keta – MP

Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, the Member of Parliament for Keta, has announced several infrastructure projects currently underway in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region. These initiatives encompass healthcare, education, and roads. Two Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds are being constructed, along with numerous educational facilities in various communities.

During the commissioning of a 3-unit classroom at Atiavi Glime on October 5, Gakpey emphasized that the projects are part of ongoing efforts to address infrastructure needs and enhance access to essential public services. Two CHPS compounds are being built, with one located in Seva. These facilities will include accommodation and auxiliary facilities for nurses, aiming to provide more than just basic healthcare structures.

Additionally, the development of educational projects is ongoing, such as at Atiavi Secondary School, where construction of a new school facility is progressing with support from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). The MP also highlighted road infrastructure improvements, noting discussions with the Minister of Roads and Highways to advance these projects.

The construction of roads, he explained, would improve connectivity within the municipality and support access to the various facilities being developed. Gakpey stressed that these projects, spanning health, education, and road sectors, represent a broader effort to enhance infrastructure across the Keta Municipality, ensuring communities benefit from essential services while improving connectivity between them.
