Turkey supplies Korkut air defence systems to Ukraine, sources say

Ukrainian officials have confirmed that Turkey recently supplied anti-drone air defence systems called Korkut to Ukraine, according to multiple sources. These systems, produced by Turkish defence company Aselsan, consist of three weapon system vehicles and one command-and-control vehicle. Although the exact number of units deployed on the battlefield is unknown, Ukrainian officials say Kyiv has been testing the Korkut systems and has expressed interest in purchasing more if the pricing is favorable.

Korkut is designed to counter threats such as cruise missiles and drones, using 25-millimetre smart ammunition. Ukrainian officials claim that Korkut has been successful in countering Russian attacks, despite some challenges that have been overcome with minor adjustments. Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol has stated that Korkut systems are operational in nine countries, including Turkey's NATO ally, and that the Turkish army is already utilizing these systems.
