Trump pushes Super Intelligence Force as America doubles down on AI supremacy over China

WASHINGTON, October 5 — In a bid to solidify America's dominance in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI), President Donald Trump has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking "Super Intelligence Force" (SIF). The new entity, headed by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, will be responsible for ensuring the United States remains the world leader in super intelligence.

Trump, speaking through his Truth Social platform, emphasized the critical importance of maintaining the nation's technological edge over its rival, China. Other notable figures tapped to spearhead the initiative include Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.

The SIF will oversee the government's interactions with various stakeholders, including consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and AI companies. Reporting directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, the SIF's primary mission is to coordinate efforts towards maintaining the US's lead in AI.

Despite growing concerns about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence, Trump remains steadfast in his support for its development, dismissing warnings of catastrophic consequences as alarmist. Instead, he advocates for industry self-regulation as the best approach to safeguarding national security. Clayton, speaking at a recent meeting with AI industry leaders, reiterated that preserving US superiority in artificial intelligence is the top priority for national security.
