The Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz is a distinctive product within the Huntsman family of peripherals, marking the company's debut in the Hall Effect magnetic keyboard category. This keyboard offers a unique gaming and typing experience and comes in two layouts: a 65% and a tenkeyless (TKL). For this review, the focus is on the TKL model.
The keyboard features a compact yet substantial design, weighing down to users through its brushed aircraft-grade aluminium top plate. It is exclusively available in Razer's standard black color. The keyboard is constructed with thick internal foam that enhances its acoustics by diminishing undesirable vibrations and echoes. Additionally, it is equipped with textured double-shot PBT keycaps, which provide durability, resistance to legend peeling, and ease of cleaning.
What sets the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz apart is its Hall Effect switches, known as Razer Hall Effect Magnetic switches. These switches enable a polling rate of up to 8,000Hz over a wired connection, although the keyboard does not support wireless functionality, a common characteristic among Huntsman keyboards. The keyboard's practicality is further enhanced by its resistance to warping, a feature Razer claims adds a robust and rugged feel to the product, regardless of its use at a desk or while traveling.
