Port City secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Bechem United at Daasebre Boamah Darko II Park on Sunday, bouncing back from their midweek loss to reigning champions Medeama SC. Debutants Port City opened the scoring in the 18th minute when captain Hamza Zakari headed in a cross from Ben Ghartey, his second goal of the season. Port City extended their lead six minutes later as Gideon Waja delivered a cross for Owusu Ansah to score.
Bechem United managed to pull one back seven minutes after the restart, with Augustine Okrah's effort deflecting off a defender into the net. However, Port City quickly regained control, restoring their two-goal advantage in the 54th minute. Emmanuel Intori drove into the box, beating his marker and laying the ball across to Owusu Ansah, who finished the move from close range and secured the win for Port City.
The team will now travel to the capital to face Accra Hearts of Oak next, while Bechem United will aim to bounce back when they host Vision FC.
