Police nab phone snatchers in Kasarani, recover stolen device and crude weapons

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were apprehended on Sunday, October 4, during an operation conducted by officers from Kasarani Sub-County in Clay City, Sunton, and Hunters.

The two suspects were allegedly seen attempting to snatch a mobile phone from a passerby when officers intercepted them. The suspects reportedly tried to flee, prompting officers to pursue them until they were cornered and taken into custody. A search of the suspects' belongings led to the discovery of the stolen mobile phone and the crude weapons, which were preserved as evidence.

The suspects were then placed in police custody, awaiting arraignment. The NPS stated that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle phone theft syndicates and other criminal networks operating in Nairobi. The police emphasized their commitment to working relentlessly to disrupt such criminal activities.
