MyEG, Zetrix AI Ordered To Settle RM314 Million Arrears Immediately Amid Service Suspension

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has suspended services provided by MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd due to their failure to fulfill their financial obligations, according to the latest report from Malay Mail. The suspension took effect today, and Transport Minister Anthony Loke has ordered the companies to immediately settle RM314 million in outstanding government revenue.

The arrears, which have accumulated since May, have not been settled even after 35 reminder notices were issued and four engagement sessions were held with stakeholders, including the Finance Ministry.

Minister Loke clarified that the RM314 million in arrears had not been due three years ago, but rather since May. Prior to this incident, there had been occasional arrears, but they were promptly settled following reminders. The suspension will remain in place until the entire outstanding amount is paid. Once the arrears are settled, the government will assess whether to resume these services.

The ministry and JPJ have pursued legal action to recover the full amount owed. However, they have assured the public that the suspension will not impact JPJ services, as people can still make payments through alternative channels, such as the MyJPJ application, JPJ Public Portal, counters, and kiosks. Mobile counters in Johor will also remain open to serve non-Malaysians paying traffic summonses at the Malaysia-Singapore border.
