Mumbai Crime: Bandra Mechanic Arrested For Impersonating Cop After Police Cap On Car Dashboard Exposes Fake Officer

Bandra police arrested a 37-year-old car mechanic, Fahad Farid Khan, on Saturday after they noticed he was impersonating a police officer. The mechanic had placed a blue police cap on the dashboard of a white car parked near the White House building in Bandra, Mumbai. Constables Nikhilesh Sable and Sangve were patrolling the area when they observed the suspicious car with no number plate and the cap on the dashboard.

Realizing something was off, Sable contacted the traffic department, and they arrived at the scene around 7:40 pm.

Upon further investigation, the mechanic, Fahad Farid Khan, began arguing with the police and traffic officials. When asked about the cap and the missing number plate, Khan provided inconsistent answers and did not possess any documents for the vehicle. The officers realized Khan was not a genuine police officer but had been attempting to scare people into believing he was a real police officer.

Khan was subsequently arrested, and both the car and the cap were seized. The police are currently investigating whether the car belonged to Khan or if it was stolen.
