MND Local Los Cabos: A guide to new golf courses and renovations, 2026–2028

Los Cabos is the premier golf destination in Mexico and Latin America, boasting 18 world-class golf courses designed by top golf course architects such as Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, and Tom Fazio. In the coming years, three more high-profile courses are set to be added, including a new design by Tiger Woods at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, a second course by Tom Fazio at Querencia, and the first local design by four-time major champion Ernie Els.

The renovations at One&Only Palmilla Golf Club, a luxurious resort in Los Cabos, are currently underway. The project aims to transform the golf experience by completely modernizing the 18-hole courses, including new turfgrass, greens, bunkers, tees, cart paths, landscaping, and irrigation infrastructure. The Mountain and Ocean courses will be closed for construction, while the Arroyo nine remains open.

The practice facility will also be rebuilt with target greens and short-game areas. The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

In addition to the renovations at One&Only Palmilla, a new 11-hole short course called El Once is being designed by Agustín Pizá for Palmilla Reserve. The course will offer a unique, casual, and social golf experience with multiple elevated tee areas and target greens. The project is expected to have its first six holes open by the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, Tom Fazio is designing Campo Alto at Querencia, his first course design outside the U.S. This private upscale community near San José del Cabo will only allow resident members and their guests to play.
