Meta rolling out audio upgrades, turn-by-turn navigation for Ray-Ban smart glasses

Meta has recently rolled out new updates for its Ray-Ban smart glasses, focusing on audio enhancements and turn-by-turn navigation capabilities. The latest system update, version 129, brings two key changes to audio playback. Users can now balance audio between the two speakers to optimize their hearing experience, or switch to mono playback for both speakers instead of stereo sound.

In addition to audio upgrades, the update version 128 has been widely available since early September. This version introduces Spatial Audio support, strengthening anti-tampering measures to prevent the camera from functioning if the privacy LED has been tampered with. Furthermore, the update introduces new location features, enhancing the overall user experience.

Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses now offer turn-by-turn walking navigation directions. This feature utilizes the location from the user's phone and allows for sharing navigation routes directly from mapping apps to Meta AI for use on the glasses. While audio improvements are still being rolled out, the navigation enhancements from update version 128 are now broadly accessible through the Meta AI app update.
