Marshals Boss Defends 'Tragic Outcome' Of Season 2 Premiere: 'We Went Back And Forth About It A Lot'
Marshals returned to CBS on Sunday, but not everyone made it out of the Season 2 premiere alive. Showrunner Spencer Hudnut breaks it all down for TVLine.
Season 2 of "Marshals" kicked off with a tragic start when Kayce (Luke Grimes) was betrayed by Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey). In "All Hat No Cattle," Kayce was ambushed by Tom's goons, threatening to kill Tate (Brecken Merrill) if Kayce didn't sell him his land. Dolly (Ellyn Jameson), Tom's daughter, was initially thought to be in on the plan, but she was unaware of her father's betrayal.
Tom and Dolly met their demise by driving off a cliff while fleeing Kayce. This leaves Tate feeling frightened and determined to protect his family more intensely, which could be Kayce's biggest fear.
