Man United’s Alex Scott hopes hit by major Chelsea transfer development

Manchester United remains determined to sign Alex Scott, despite Chelsea's strong push to acquire the midfielder. The England international had a standout season in 2025/26, drawing the attention of top clubs, including Manchester United. United made efforts to sign Scott during the summer transfer window, but Bournemouth consistently rebuffed their overtures and later rejected a £60 million bid from Chelsea.

Scott had previously rejected multiple offers from Bournemouth to extend his stay, indicating his desire to move to a bigger club. United's midfield rebuild saw them sign Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba from Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Brighton, respectively. However, Baleba's debut is now expected after the international break due to an injury sustained with Brighton.

Chelsea is reportedly the frontrunner to secure Scott's signature, with multiple bids of more than £60 million rejected by Bournemouth. Liverpool and Arsenal are also monitoring Scott's situation. United's next match is against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.
