Lost crucial evidence in Manchanda murder case due to Gurugram cops delay: Delhi Police tells SC

The Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of certain individuals in relation to the murder of Olalekan Oyeyemi, commonly known as 'Emir'. Oyeyemi was allegedly killed at Mayfair Park, Ile-Ife, during a meeting on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The gathering was centered on deliberations regarding potential alterations to the leadership structure of the park system as proposed by the Osun State Government.

Following Oyeyemi's death, efforts were made to ascertain the perpetrators of the attack, with some of his associates expressing their determination to seek justice for his demise. An associate of the deceased further alleged that some of the assailants were clad in Amotekun Corps attire during the assault. However, the Osun Amotekun Corps refuted these claims, stating that none of its personnel had been apprehended in connection with the murder.

According to Yusuf Idowu, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun Amotekun Corps, some of the operatives were transferred to the police for assistance in investigating the incident's circumstances. Idowu further revealed that the officers handed over to the police had previously been linked to the activities of a National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) official before the incident.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that arrests had indeed been made, but he was yet to establish whether Amotekun personnel were among those detained. Ojelabi added that further details would be required to clarify the identities and status of the suspects, as they awaited additional information from the command.
