Lahore Launches Crackdown on Wrong Parking and Encroachments Outside Hospitals

Lahore's Chief Traffic Officer, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, has initiated a crackdown on unauthorized parking, roadside carts, rickshaw stands, and wrong parking near hospitals throughout the city. The CTO instructed divisional and circle officers to reassess traffic arrangements around hospitals and collaborate with hospital administrations to tackle congestion and other traffic-related concerns.

He stated that teams from the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) and the Municipal Corporation must participate in the removal of encroachments. Roadside carts and other structures positioned along hospital walls are to be removed immediately. Shirazi emphasized that emergency roads and hospital entrances must always be unobstructed to facilitate the smooth passage of ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Circle officers have been tasked with meeting hospital medical superintendents and security personnel to enhance traffic management near healthcare facilities. The CTO also instructed traffic wardens to grant ambulances immediate precedence by clearing their path upon hearing an emergency siren.
