KPT perkukuh kerjasama pastikan graduan dapat kerja selaras kelayakan

Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi, Zambry Abd Kadir, has emphasized the ongoing need to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and other key ministries, particularly the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Human Resources (Kesuma), in order to ensure that university and polytechnic graduates are equipped with skills that match market requirements and academic qualifications.

Speaking at a media briefing ahead of Malaysia Academy Day and Month 2026 at Universiti Malaya (UM) on October 5th, Zambry said that these efforts are crucial to ensure that thousands of graduates each year can be aligned with the right job sector according to their qualifications. The minister noted that steps taken by KPT include close collaboration with these major ministries to ensure that graduates from universities and polytechnics are matched to the right job sector based on their qualifications.

Addressing the issue of graduate salaries, Zambry mentioned that this has been discussed in Cabinet meetings and received special attention from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, alongside the upcoming salary distribution steps. The minister reiterated KPT's commitment to making the research and innovation results from universities more accessible to society and contributing to national development.

The primary focus, Zambry stated, is to translate research findings and innovations from universities to benefit the community and contribute to national development. Regarding the upcoming national budget, Zambry hopes for an increase in allocations, particularly for university and polytechnic infrastructure development, maintenance, and hostel facilities, which urgently need attention.
