JAMB to hold UTME in Canada from 2027

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to establish a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ottawa, Canada, which will begin operations in 2027. This initiative aims to provide easier access to the UTME for Nigerians living in Canada and other parts of North America, as well as those seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The proposed centre, which will be located in the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa, will make it more convenient for eligible Nigerians in the diaspora to sit for the examination without having to travel to Nigeria. JAMB views this move as a significant step in taking Nigerian tertiary education to the world and strengthening the connection between Nigerians abroad and the Nigerian education system.
