Dubai-based aluminum manufacturer Emirates Extrusion (EE) is taking significant strides towards sustainability with the installation of a solar PV system at its facility. The system, which is expected to generate around 1.24 GWh of clean electricity annually, will result in a reduction of approximately 12,389 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over its 25-year lifespan.
This project, developed jointly with renewable energy specialist Three Eight Six (386 Solar), showcases EE's dedication to sustainable manufacturing and energy efficiency. EE's General Manager, Sreekumar Brahmanandan, highlighted that the solar installation will help reduce their environmental footprint and lower the embodied carbon of their extruded profiles.
Three Eight Six's Chairman, Ahmad Al Khayyat, emphasized the positive impact of the partnership, noting that industrial facilities can generate clean energy by utilizing available spaces. The initiative aligns with Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE's goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
