Education Ministry commends Ghanaian teachers on World Teachers’ Day 2026
The Ministry of Education has commended teachers across Ghana for their dedication, professionalism and sacrifices as the country joins the international community to celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2026.
On World Teachers’ Day 2026, Ghana's Ministry of Education lauded the nation's teachers for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and sacrifices. The Ministry emphasized that teachers remain the bedrock of Ghana's education system, responsible for molding children's minds, character, and future. In a press release on Monday, the Ministry specifically acknowledged educators working in deprived and difficult-to-reach areas, who persist in delivering education despite challenging circumstances.
The Government's education transformation agenda focuses on enhancing access to education, improving learning outcomes, imparting relevant skills, and fostering human capital development. Crucial to these objectives, teachers are indispensable for the success of any education reform, as no progress can be achieved without a robust and supported teaching workforce.
The Ministry pledged to collaborate with teachers, their unions, and other stakeholders to bolster the teaching profession, support professional growth, and address issues impacting teachers' welfare and working conditions. It also urged parents, communities, and all Ghanaians to recognize and support teachers, whose role is deemed essential to the country's social and economic development.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to teachers across the country for their continued service and their pivotal role in preparing future generations, saying, "To every teacher, we say: Thank you for your dedication. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for shaping Ghana's future."
