Dubai's Golden Visa scheme rewards outstanding educators on World Teachers' Day

Dubai's Golden Visa scheme, introduced on World Teachers' Day, rewards exceptional educators across the city's private schools and universities. The program, initiated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, grants long-term residency to high-performing teachers working in early-childhood centres, schools, and higher-education institutions. Since its inception on October 5, 2024, over 835 candidates have applied.

Applicants undergo a thorough evaluation considering academic qualifications, achievements, contributions to education, and feedback from parents, pupils, and students. The initiative aligns with Dubai's Education 33 strategy, which seeks to attract skilled educators to enhance students' learning experiences and bolster the emirate's global competitiveness.

To qualify, applicants must be employed in a private educational institution, showcase outstanding academic achievements or creative contributions, demonstrate a proven record of improving educational quality, and provide evidence of tangible positive effects on learning. Notable contributions to student outcomes, such as academic progress and accreditation attainment, are also key factors. Further eligibility details and the application process can be found on the Knowledge and Human Development Authority website.
