‘Draft reservation list for polls to rural local bodies ready’

According to Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshwar Khandre, the draft reservation list for elections to rural local bodies is now ready. Speaking to reporters in Bidar, Khandre confirmed that the State government remains committed to conducting polls for gram panchayats, taluk panchayats, and zilla panchayats. However, the publication of the draft notification is contingent upon receiving approval from the Election Commission, as the Model Code of Conduct is currently in effect due to the upcoming Legislative Council elections.

Khandre has formally sought permission from the Commission. Once the draft is finalized following the consideration of objections and suggestions, an affidavit will be filed in the high court. The proposal for the election will subsequently be submitted to the State Election Commission.
