Daryz clinched victory at the prestigious Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe for the second consecutive year, showcasing his exceptional performance in a weekend of remarkable turf races. The Grade I event, held at the renowned Longchamp racecourse, marked another stellar achievement for the stud farm of the Aga Khan, trainer Francis Graffard, and jockey Mickael Barzalona.
Overcoming a sluggish start, Daryz displayed remarkable resilience, rallying from midfield to secure the win. This remarkable feat marked Daryz's consistent pedigree, boasting nine wins out of twelve starts and amassing earnings exceeding $6.9 million. However, Princess Zahra, daughter of the late Aga Khan and current mistress of the Aga Khan's Studs, has hinted at the prospect of Daryz's retirement, emphasizing the risks associated with further racing.
Consequently, Daryz will not participate in the Breeders' Cup Turf, and alternatives such as the British Champions Day and the Breeders' Cup Mile are under consideration.
