Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Monday, tracking gains on Wall Street. The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 5.01 points, or 0.31%, to 1,635.88 at 9:10am, having opened 2.55 points higher at 1,633.42. According to Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd vice-president of equity research Thong Pak Leng, the US 10-year yield remained elevated at 5.28% and Brent crude oil settled at US$102.25 per barrel.

Several heavyweight stocks gained, including Maybank, Public Bank, CIMB, and Tenaga Nasional, which each rose four sen to RM10.06, RM4.70, RM7.69, and RM13.00 respectively. IHH Healthcare decreased six sen to RM7.74.
