The BJP has announced eight candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, omitting Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and BL Verma, whose terms in the Upper House are set to conclude soon. The party’s selection includes a diverse mix of OBC, Brahmin, Dalit, and Thakur candidates, with OBC nominee Dharampal Singh being seen as a replacement for Verma, who also belongs to the same community.
