Arc Raiders is looking for 'more ways to integrate real human performances' starting with Celeste's visual overhaul for Frozen Trail

Embark is making significant adjustments to Arc Raiders in preparation for the upcoming Frozen Trail update. The company has undertaken a comprehensive overhaul, including a new anticheat system, the possibility of a PvE test, and modifications to loot hotspots. However, amidst these changes, a more substantial transformation is taking place with Celeste, Speranza's key resident.

Diana Gardner has been the voice of Celeste since the game's inception, yet Stefan Strandberg, Embark's chief creative officer, revealed that Celeste's performance has never truly captured the depth of Gardner's acting abilities. The character's restricted expressive range has hindered immersion and prevented the portrayal of critical story elements.

To address this, Embark has initiated a visual overhaul for Celeste, incorporating full motion capture technology. This includes a more detailed and accurate facial representation, enabling the precise mapping of emotions and expressions. Consequently, Celeste will undergo a visual transformation on October 6 when Frozen Trail launches, providing players with a more authentic portrayal of the talented actress.
