The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been awarded the top sustainability prize at the 10th Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards. The accolade recognizes its groundbreaking Sustainability Label initiative, which assists private companies in evaluating their performance on environmental, social, and governance matters. The label also recognizes achievements as companies make progress towards sustainability goals.
The prestigious award was presented by Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, which is part of the Environment Agency. The award was accepted by Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber. The win highlights not only the team's efforts but also the broader impact of the initiative on the Gulf region's businesses.
Al Marzooqi emphasized that the Sustainability Label aims to prepare companies for stricter market, investor, and supply chain demands. By strengthening individual businesses, the label ultimately bolsters Abu Dhabi's private sector as a whole. The Chamber now plans to expand the availability of the Sustainability Label to even more companies.
