9 years' jail for female teacher who committed sexual acts on female student on bus, in school toilet

A 35-year-old teacher in Singapore has been sentenced to nine years in jail for sexually exploiting a 15-year-old female student. The teacher performed sexual acts on the student in various locations, including the school toilet, a karaoke room, and on a bus. The student, who had a history of family problems and mental health issues, reported the incidents to Child Protection Services, leading to the arrest of the teacher.

The judge acknowledged the teacher's serious error of judgment but emphasized that it was not a reflection on her as a mother or wife. The student suffered from nightmares, insomnia, suicidal thoughts, and flashbacks as a result of the teacher's actions.
